New Handbook Updates Veterans Benefits

A new edition of the popular handbook "Federal Benefits for Veterans and Dependents" by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) updates the rates for certain federal payments and outlines a variety of programs and benefits for American veterans. Most of the nation's 25 million veterans qualify for some VA benefits, which range from health care to burial in a national cemetery. The 2005 edition provides an overview of programs and services for veterans provided by other Federal agencies. Click here to download the handbook.

In spite of the fact that the Bush administration is cutting back benefits to veterans, a variety of benefits are still available to vets - but you have to ask for them, before they disappear too!

'The Judiciary is Out of Control' (But Vote Our Judges In)

In a 12-page polemic delivered to his followers, James Dobson declares the third branch of our government - the judiciary - to be out of control. He then attempts to make the case that federal courts, below the Supreme Court, are not specifically required by the Constitution. Therefore we can get get rid of those "troublesome" courts such as the "Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals" in San Francisco. And then, at the end there is a plea to send money to remove the filibuster in the Senate.

So basically the Republican 'argument' can be reduced to this:

Get rid of the judiciary, except for our judges.

Dobson may have a tough time getting into Heaven after all - he looks like he will be a permanent resident of La-La Land.
