The Brains Behind Bush - Part II

White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card said yesterday that President Bush views America as a "10-year-old child" in need of the sort of protection provided by a parent – and his campaign confirms this fact.

‘Four-more-years, USA, USA, flip-flop-flip-flop.’ That’s the Republican platform folks, for 10-year-olds. That’s it. You heard it at the convention from people wearing purple heart band-aids. You heard it from people with the playground taunting voice of the bully that leads them: na, na-na, na-na, na. That’s the depth of their thinking. That’s the depth of their understanding. That’s their Pied Piper response to a message from their leader that said nothing more than ‘be afraid, be very afraid.’

Apparently that shallow approach appeals to more than 45% of the people. We should be very afraid, if that’s the case.

We can’t trust someone who doesn’t trust us. What an irony that he thinks he is speaking to 10-year-olds – he should look in the mirror, while his followers come up with another memorable two or three word meaningless slogan.
